POLITICAL AND POLICE BRUTALITY

PETITION AGAINST POLICE BRUTALITY

I didn’t want to take this iron hand and courageous stance but I considered it the last resort after exhausting all necessary diplomatic avenues, persevering and tolerating for so long. I hope the petition will help expose, shed-light on and ameliorate some avoidable atrocities and brutalities that some innocent civilians and citizens are succumbing to at the hands of some irate and unscrupulous police officers on political, socio-economic, ethnic, and tribal grounds or otherwise. What these officers should appreciate is that there is a drawing line between pride and self-reliance; that it took me a lifetime to gather this respect to deserve and by endeavoring to tarnish and destroy that reputation through malicious allegations, prejudice and jealousy reflects lack of professionalism on their behalf.

The irate police officers and those behind them should appreciate that I have the rights and freedoms to live my life the way I please so long as I am abiding by the rules, precepts and regulations of this nation of which I have since birth. They should not dictate what I should do and how I should lead my life. Tell them to stop making grave allegations against me and accusing me of crimes I did not commit for if anything within the confines of the law and constitution they have the freedom and mandate to seek legal redress against me if I am guilty of anything. They should know that I am not rich neither am I poor but I am just exercising my right to lead a comfortable life in tandem with my status and professional expectations. They are tainting a reputation I strived to build over a lifetime and it will take eternity to regain my god-given respect and dignity if their malicious allegations are anything to go by. Tell the responsible authorities omwe akuwatuma kuti andiuze chomwe ndawalakwila, that ulemu sikupusa or that kuleza mtima simantha. Don’t capitalize on and take advantage of ulemu or kufatsa and tell them that sindidja pakomo pamuntu koma ndimadja tukuta langa neither do I go about begging and they need to respect that. Also tell amene akuatuma kuti kukala odzidalila sikunyada iyayi. My self-reliance and independence should not be construed as neither should it be a bother to anyone. If anything people should strive to transform their lives. Everyone has the freedom to emancipate themselves from deprivation so long as they are working hard to do so. We have free education and everyone has had access to education thus if other people fail to take advantage of their opportunities and end up in dire poverty that should not be blamed on me. People should accept their status and respect that of others since all of us are given a chance to take advantage of the opportunities at our disposal. If I have some money or belongings it is because I have sacrificed by starving to save and purchase the things I dreamed to have in life not by corrupt means or otherwise and attached are receipts of my merchandise so you should verify if that is what you please. Tell the people amene akutuma apolisi omwe akundivutitsa kuti ngati amapanga zakatangale ine zisandikudze. Musanditengele kokandiyesa, leave me alone! Musandizunze chifukwa ndilibe  m mbale womudalila kapena onditandiza. Mulibe manyazi yeti-  mumadana ndikuunika ndichilungamo chifukwa chani. I am not what I am, or where I am because of corruption or favoritism or nepotism I deserve to be- and I attach my credentials so that you should appreciate and respect that. If you want more of my credentials google [marisen mwale] on the internet.

I thus plead with the responsible officers to stop abusing power and authority to victimize innocent people. To stop stalking me, to stop tampering with my privacy by tapping my communications, to stop tampering with media communications radio or otherwise in a bid to victimize innocent people, to stop drugging and poisoning my foodstuffs, to stop manipulating the hospitals I go to by influencing the drugs they prescribe so as to destabilize and eliminate me, and to respect my universal rights and freedoms as enshrined by the republican constitution otherwise I have the mandate to take up the matter with the United Nations and the International Court of Justice for Human rights violations. Being an outstanding academician, emancipating oneself from deprivation through academic excellence and distinguished service to a nation are not crimes- so leave me alone. Respect my positive contributions to the nation and don’t take advantage of my poor status to treat me like an animal- I am no dog neither am I a cyborg- I have rights like you or any other Malawian citizen. Tell the responsible officers perpetrating abuses against me on malicious grounds ndiomwe akuatuma kuti I didn’t force them to join the police service, that they have the freedom to attain a similar status as I have academically, economically, professionally or otherwise provided they strive for and work hard for it and nobody is deprived of that right in our free and democratic society. I conclude by stipulating that they should leave me alone and respect my rights because I have enough personal problems and by inflicting such wanton pain they are further complicating my innocent life.
