ULTIMATUM

ULTIMATUM

It has come to our notice as bona fide concerned citizens of this country that Malawi - our peaceful God-fearing Sovereign state is degenerating into a chaotic political chess field where political arch-rivals are geared at willy-nilly outmaneuvering one another like nobody’s concern at the expense of our constitutional rights, democratic precepts, good governance and overall political well being of the nation.
Gross omissions underscoring the need to tighten checks and balances on our freedoms and universal rights, peaceful co-existence as Malawians and as well posing a grave threat to our young democracy herewith are as follows highlighted:
1.     Sidelining and deliberate blurring from the spotlight; victimizing, persecuting and wanton embarrassment of the office of the Vice Presidency on personal, partisan and political grounds to foster the political mileage of other persons against the provisions of our republican constitution and above all else disrespecting the franchise of the Malawian voter who democratically elected the persona per se into office; who was not appointed but through universal suffrage vested with authority and unequivocally contributed to the success of the ruling party per se in the 2009 general elections.
2.    The use of the public broadcaster [MBC] to inflict unnecessary pain on political opponents and denigration of such to the effect of violating universal rights and freedoms of innocent persons; and utilizing the same to perpetrate propaganda, selfish motives of some power hungry individuals against the wishes of Malawian taxpayers some of whom are struggling to make ends meet against a very prohibitive taxation regime and policy.
3.    Disgracefully forcing business persons to invest in remote places with no projected business future like the Nsanje port against their will, right to business risk-assessment and fear of a business fiasco through loss of investment capital. In the same vein spreading propaganda fibs that the Mozambican government is urging government to consider alternative corridors for the transit of import goods e.g., fuel to incidentally market the same Nsanje port.
4.    Wanton abuse of power and authority democratically vested by dictating retrogressive policies that are of no benefit to the crop of dedicated and hard-working innocent Malawians in such as the PENSION POLICY to be gazette and implemented creating unnecessary panic and fear in the civil service and other branches of government and contravening on international labour laws.
5.    Dictatorial changes without proper democratic consultation in such as the National flag [an emblem to our sovereignty], the introduction of the controversial QUOTA SYSTEM that has caused divisions, dissension and instilled a horrendous sense of suspicion among Malawians as well as the wanton persecution of and victimization of some politicians assumed to be sympathizing with their brothers back North in the same vein.
6.    Intermittent fuel crisis and power outages that are derailing the smooth functionality of the state economically or otherwise due to the so called paradoxical lack of forex yet we have just and are still exporting our Tobacco and Uranium. Would it be surprising to conclude some persons are monopolizing and using national forex for personal agendas or even transferring huge sums of national revenue to personal international bank accounts?
7.    Persecuting and arresting innocent members of the clergy and some religious sects on politically motivated and suspicious grounds thus not respecting the fundamental religious rights and freedoms of such men of God as rightly enshrined by the republican constitution thus dragging our God-fearing nation into disgrace by sowing devilish seeds like sadistic satanic worshipers or pagan diabolic hearthens who deride in the sufferings and persecution of their own brethren.
8.    Victimizing and persecuting rather than appreciating the services rendered by the former Head of State Dr Bakili Muluzi despite his ill-health further inflicting psychological and physical trauma- kodi tasandulika asatana- where is our kalidwe lachi Malawi and cultural morality. If Gays are being pardoned can’t we be sane enough kukululukila and kuyamikila contribution yamutsogoleli [10 years zoona?]. Tikufuna afe ndimaganizo kenako tizijijilika kumamuyamikila ngati momwe zichitila mfiti! Tilibe umunthu ndi chifundo yeti. Are we promising ourselves that we have set precedence and that such victimizations should be part and parcel of every regime?

It is against this somber, sinister, unfortunate, horrendous and diabolically sadistic background that we call upon all responsible perpetrators of such injustices and undemocratic malpractices; wantonly abusing the powers and authority vested upon them through the franchise and universal suffrage of the Malawian voter or otherwise to reflect upon their conduct and strive stringently by all means necessary to bring a dose of sanity to this our God-fearing nation to avoid the risk of degenerating into unnecessary anarchy and barbaric inconveniences.
